Origin stories. Tell me yours. Through the years, I’ve told mine. Switching gears in midlife or adding storytelling during this developmental time is not unusual.
Midlife, that time in life when some begin to hear versions of ‘Is That All There Is’ looping through our thoughts. How many wanted to write stories but never considered it in our youth. Relegated to diary or journal inserts, we believed that only a rarified few could earn a living writing stories.
In midlife, our views shift enough to allow shades of gray to filter through. Midlife is a complicated passage. Youth in our rear view mirror and old age on the horizon, albeit distant, but clear enough for us to realize that if we still have goals to reach, we better get going.
This page will offer content written by me, writersmama, over the years I switched my career from psychiatric RN to freelance writer/author/workshop leader.
My new-ish podcast, in beta stage, features authors who often weave the history of their youth into the stories they began writing in midlife.
